Youth Education
Educating our youth is a primary goal at Atonement. Our Youth and Family minister, Brother Christopher, is very active in developing programs to help educate and enrich the lives of families and children.
After you explore some of the topics on how we teach our children, continue to explore the many other youth and family centered activities associated with the other tabs. |

Sunday School
The primary aim of our Sunday School is to convey the love of God through sharing the stories, good news, and lessons of the Old and New Testaments with the children.
Each of our Sunday School grades is taught in an age-appropriate way, through the use of activities, crafts, and singing. We also use materials from Gospellight and other well-know companies.
The classes are held at 10:00am each Sunday from September through May and run approximately 45 minutes.
The grades run from Pre-school through 6th (separate Confirmation and High School programming) and are taught by church members. Each grade has a private classroom located in Founder's Hall.
First Communion
First communion instruction is offered for children in 3rd grade or younger if the parents desire. All baptized Christians are welcome at the table.

Children's Moment
Each week, Pastor or a member of our congregation has the privilege of teaching the scripture readings to the children during a brief interlude in the worship service. |

Confirmation Class
Confirmation Class is offered in two-year cycles in order to instruct young people in the basics of the Christian Faith and the Lutheran Church.
The sessions include a new curriculum called "Here We Stand" which incorporates PowerPoint presentations and contemporary teaching methods. |

Nursery
Although all children are welcome to the services, sometimes the little ones get a bit restless. At Atonement, we have a wonderful nursery staffed during each of the services.
The nursery contains toys and books to help keep the rambunctious ones occupied, and there are also cribs and changing stations available for those who may need them.
We provide a warm and loving environment so that the children will feel comfortable attending the services and actually look forward to it each week. | |
