Chicken BBQ Fundraiser
Saturday, May 23rd from 4:00 p.m. until sold out You can skip cooking dinner! Come to our easy, drive-through Chicken Barbecue and get a full, delicious meal of BBQ chicken, along with corn, broccoli salad, a roll with butter, and a cookie for dessert. The cost is just $15 per meal, and all proceeds will benefit the Brighton Habitat Coalition of Churches. Day of Pentecost Sunday, May 24th at 9:30 a.m. It's a good day to wear red to worship as we celebrate Pentecost Sunday. Fifty days after Easter, we celebrate the Holy Spirit as God’s presence within and among us. We celebrate that we are given the breath of the Holy Spirit so that we may proclaim God’s redeeming love to all the world. Holy Trinity Sunday, May 31st at 9:30 a.m. Though the word trinity is not found in the scriptures, in the gospel Jesus sends his disciples forth to baptize in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. More than a doctrine, the Trinity expresses the heart of our faith: we have experienced the God of creation made known in Jesus Christ and with us always through the Holy Spirit. We celebrate the mystery of the Holy Trinity in word and sacrament, as we profess the creed, and as we are sent into the world to bear witness to our faith. Second Sunday After Pentecost Sunday, June 7th at 9:30 a.m. Jesus was criticized for eating with tax collectors and sinners—the religiously nonobservant. Jesus criticizes the self-righteous and reminds us that mercy is to be at the heart of our religious practices. Annual Church Picnic Sunday, June 7th following worship Join us after worship for fellowship, food, and fun at our annual Church Picnic. We will provide sandwich wraps/subs and beverages. Please sign up in the church narthex to bring a side dish or dessert to share…or to assist with set-up/clean-up. |
